Original Item: Only One Available. At first glance, we assume this was one of many "Theater Made" fighting knives deployed mostly in the Pacific theater of WWII. However, once we removed the scabbard it was clear that this fighting knife began life as a WWI Model 1918 Trench Knife, and then was modified for WWII use by removing the knuckle guard portion. The crossguard was ground down, as were the sides of the grip, one of which is now marked LUTHER, most likely the name of the owner.

The knife is in good shape, with the blade sharpened somewhat, and still retains the very effective "skull crusher" pommel of the Mark 1. The knife comes with a standard leather scabbard with a belt loop in the back. It is made from several pieces of leather secured together with rivets.

A good example of a WWI Trench knife that saw further service through modification. Ready to display!
