When you join the fire service you agree to fight a war that never ends with an opponent who is always changing and a battleground that is always evolving.  The design highlights some of the tools we use in that fight--a nozzle, halligan, books for education, and a saw blade.  The design rests below an hourglass where time is never on our side.
